Workshop 1
WORKSHOP 1: Project 1 Disabilities Experience Pavilion Workshop
Firstly, our group are to come prepared with ideas of the people with disabilities that we will be designing for and what are some examples of architectural solutions. Secondly, decide on the kind of recreational activity that will be proposing for the users. Thirdly, generate architectural design from understanding the needs of the users with architectural space. Lastly, produce TWO “Design Intention Images” based on the discussion above
Workshop 2
WORKSHOP 2: Precedents Analysis & Conceptual Modelling
We have to come up with selection of program related precedents and cluster related precedents. We will have to already identify main conceptual ideas from their selected precedents and prepare draft annotated plans and sections. Then, students will work on a minimum of 2 exploratory physical models of conceptual ideas based on the selected precedents as well as their understanding of the site and program. Lastly, for the modelling exercise, we are to prepare a simple A3 sized base for the model, with drawing of the site and immediate context printed on it at an appropriate scale.
Workshop 3
WORKSHOP 3: Building Construction & Passive Design Strategies Integration
References and precedents on envelope detailing and passive design strategies that could be applied to our project. - Exploratory sectional sketches exploring preliminary ideas of envelope construction and detailing.
" What kind of roof? What kind of façade? What is the material for both? "
We will have to draft section drawing of your building design as a base for exploring the integration of development of the building envelope with passive design environmental strategies. During the workshop, after discussing the material above, we will have to further develop a more detailed section drawing to explore detailing, materiality and relation to environment and space quality.
