Assignment 1

Diagramming Architectural Principles

For project 1 we are to form a group and conduct a background research on one of the key building from a given list. After analyzing, we are required to produce a set of architectural drawings, analysis diagrams and diagrammatic models and a compilation of the analysis process.

Assignment 3

Project 3 is a individual task, I will need to create a solitary heaven made up of 100m3, situated in the provided space in Subang Ria Recreational Park. This project focuses on overall, which are the uniqueness to surrounding, the relationship between my design and the corresponding site context, activity. At the same time balancing the internal and external of the building. Moreover, this project also require us to collect a process of development to demonstrate our design intention.

In workshop 1, we are to suggest two site use alternatives individually.

Workshop 2

Workshop 2, require us to produce orthographic drawings (Floor Plan, Section, Elevation). Then, we are to attend an interim to receive criticism and alternate suggestion from different perspective by experienced professional individuals.

Reflection

Project 2 challenges us to use the architectural principle from the project 1 to explore our conceptual and operational procedures in order to produce a significant gesture of architectural space within the given space of 125 m3. Basically, a folly that help us with the Covid-19 situation, like reflective and rethinking dispositions about the self and certain ways or postures by which we frame ourselves, our relationship with nature.

Workshop 3

Workshop 3, we will manually draw a detailed section of a part from our design, to study deeper into the insides of our structure. Thus, showing the stability and constructability of the building.

Frankly speaking, this module (Studio II) was the toughest core compared to the rest as it is the most prominent one. After going through every restless classes and tutorial this module has to offer, I have touch on a lot about design and benefited so much from variety of new things. I have learnt how to apply my ideas and intention to make a unique design solely from me. Further more, tutor have been referring my work to different architecture designs, resulted me being inspired by many famous architects and their work. I struggled the most during the final assignment, that is also because it takes up the largest sum of marks. I face challenges like short of time and my procrastinating attitude causing delay and pile up of my work from other modules too, but most challenging part was that I challenge myself to try developing a design that I was unfamiliar with, called "Parabolic" with the insufficient knowledge I possess, put me at a hard time figuring out ways to improve and best meet the criteria. Fortunately, under the guidance of Ms. Indrani, the help from her helped me through many difficult times by answering my doubtful questions and complex thinking. At one point, I was lost and did she gave me longer tutoring period so that I could get back on track, I'm really thankful for that. Despite it was really a demanding subject but at least I get through it and learnt so much, I did enjoy in challenging myself and learnt from mistakes. Although, it did not went smoothly along the whole process but it was worth the time and energy to work on what I'm inspired to be.
